Dato Sri Nazir Razak

Chairman of Ikhlas Capital

On Tuesday evening (5 November 2019), GenCorporate launched a speaker series with a talk on ‘The Challenges of Doing Business in ASEAN’ presented by Dato’ Sri Nazir Razak, the Chairman of Ikhlas Capital. The event was held at Zheng Chelsea in London with around 30 students attending the event.

As the catalyst of CIMB’s transformation from a mid-sized Malaysian merchant bank into the 5th largest ASEAN universal bank, Dato’ Sri Nazir Razak shared his experiences working on strengthening businesses in different companies and how he overcame challenges he faced during his term as the CEO of CIMB Bank. Interestingly, he also shared his views about the interconnectedness between ASEAN politics and its economy. By the end of his sharing session, there was a Q &A session during which attendees actively asked Dato’ Sri about his opinion on his current private equity firm business as well as other issues that have broader implications on ASEAN businesses. Finally, there was a networking session for attendees to engage in further conversations with Dato’ Sri Nazir Razak. The entire event ran smoothly and ended around 9pm

We hope all who attended the event found it an insightful event. Most importantly, we would like to hereby express our gratitude to Dato’ Sri Nazir Razak for being our speaker for this sharing session.
