3. An Evening with BCG Kuala Lumpur

GenCorporate was delighted to host a team from The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Kuala Lumpur for dinner at Rooms at Browns, Covent Garden on the 18th of November 2015.

A group of 42 lucky individuals had the pleasure of listening to a group of lovely panelists from BCG including Dean Tong, Head of BCG's People and Organization Practice in SEA, Nurlin Salleh, Project Leader and KL Recruiting Director, Rick Ramli, Managing Director of BCG KL, Vincent Chin, Senior Partner and Managing Director in Singapore & other individuals from the KL office.

Nur Izzat Aiman, a first year BSc Accounting and Finance student at The London School of Economics and Political Science, was thrilled at the opportunity he was given and had this to say after the event: “It was a fantastic opportunity to network with the partners from BCG Kuala Lumpur! The partners were friendly, food was delicious, and the other attendees made great company. Well done!”

4. World Chinese Economic Summit (WCES)

Members of GenCorporate had the privilege to volunteer with Asian Strategic Leadership Institute (ASLI) as well participate as delegates in the World Chinese Economic Summit (WCES) where influential world leaders and respected individuals from various industries convened. The theme this year was "China and the World: Forging Euro Asian Partnerships towards Shared Prosperity".

Several round table discussions took place  over the two days summit in discussing China's role and position in the world economy today and in the future. The mood of the summit would suggest that many welcome China's new initiatives and relationships with the global economy. It was a great and insightful experience for all attendees and volunteers.

5. General Electric Graduate Application

As part of General Electric (GE)'s Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) initiative, they are actively seeking a Government Relations intern to be based in their KL office. The role would be to report to the Government Affairs & Policy Leader in developing a strong network in ASEAN.
They are open to candidates from any of the APEC countries, (preferably a non-Malaysian who is based in KL). This is a great opportunity for 2nd year international students pursuing their degree in Economics, Politics Science, International business etcetera, though undergraduate students enrolled in a fulltime bachelor’s program in any discipline are encouraged to apply too!
