2025
GenCorp hosted an insightful virtual session featuring Kevin Foo, Audit Partner and KPMG Ambassadorship Program Advisor, who shared his personal journey of returning to Malaysia after graduating from the London School of Economics (LSE). Speaking to students contemplating the next steps after building their foundation in the UK, Kevin offered candid reflections on the opportunities and challenges of moving back home. Held via Microsoft Teams, the session provided valuable guidance to those navigating major career decisions, helping them consider what it truly means to make "The Clear Choice."

GenCorp, in collaboration with PwC Malaysia, held a Resume Workshop on April 10th, 2025 at 139 Tooley Street, London. The session provided students with expert advice on building compelling resumes and offered a closer look at career pathways with PwC. Attendees gained practical tips to strengthen their job applications and had the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from one of the Big Four firms.

GenCorp proudly hosted an exclusive Teh-Tarik Session with Eric Ong, Chief Operating Officer, Head of People, and Audit Partner at KPMG Malaysia, on April 9th, 2025, at Malaysia Hall, London. Tailored for UK-based Malaysian students, the interactive session provided rare, direct access to a senior KPMG leader, offering deep insights into the firm's culture, career opportunities, and the graduate hiring process. Attendees also had the chance to be considered for a fast-track interview with KPMG’s London Office, making it a standout opportunity for aspiring professionals.

2024
On 9 November 2024, GenCorporate hosted "Navigating UK Corporate Job Applications" at Canada Water Library, where recent graduates from London top investment banks and Big 4 firms shared insights on job applications, interviews and career growth. The event attracted diverse students, providing valuable networking and career guidance.

On March 3, 2024, GenCorporate hosted an exclusive Fireside Chat with PwC Malaysia Leaders at PwC More London, featuring Nurul Ain Abdul Latif, Steve Chia, Vinesh Naidu and Mona Abu Bakar. Students had a rare opportunity to gain insights into PwC’s leadership, career pathways and industry trends, while engaging in meaningful discussions and networking with top executives.

On 1 March 2024, GenCorporate collaborated with EY Malaysia for an exclusive “Better Conversation: Driving a Sustainable Future” engagement event at Marriott Marble Arch, London. Featuring a keynote by Dato' Rauf Rashid, EY Malaysia’s Country Managing Partner, the event provided attendees with valuable insights into sustainability in business, career opportunities at EY, and professional growth. 2023
In collaboration with the British Council, our latest MentorClass sessions explored strategies for standing out in a competitive job market and staying ahead in careers. Featuring insights from Ciayi Lim (AirAsia Academy) and Nas Fatehah (Maxis), UK alumni gained valuable advice on personal branding and career growth. GIF 2023 focused on sustainability, digitalization, and finance, exploring opportunities and challenges in ASEAN’s financial sector amid digital transformation. Held virtually on March 25–26, the forum provided valuable insights into the region’s economic growth.

We partnered with Khazanah to connect ambitious students with exciting opportunities through their Graduate Programme and Internship Programme (for non-final-year students). Open to all disciplines, these programs provide hands-on experience at Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund.

2022
The final installment of our Building Bridges series focused on consulting, offering insights from Malaysians in the Big 4 and other firms. Held on December 17, 2022, the session covered application tips and career advice, providing attendees with valuable industry knowledge and networking opportunities.

Our first in-person event in two years, this Building Bridges session explored careers in the fast-growing tech sector. Held on November 26, 2022, at UCL, attendees gained insights from experienced interns and learned valuable application tips—all while networking over light refreshments.

The first installment of our Building Bridges series featured insights from industry professionals, including former interns from Goldman Sachs and BlackRock. Held on November 5, 2022, the event provided valuable advice on Spring Week and internship applications, helping attendees navigate careers in banking and finance.

GIF 2022 explored the growing impact of ESG factors across technology, consulting, investment banking, and law. Held virtually from April 2–4, the three-day event featured interactive panel discussions, Q&A sessions, a case study, and a trading simulation, providing valuable insights into responsible corporate practices.

2021
The GC Engagement Event with Samsung was a virtual experience filled with interactive activities that challenged creativity and teamwork. Participants also had the opportunity to network with Samsung employees in an exclusive session. Held on 14th September 2021, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM MYT on Zoom, the event brought together individuals for a fun and engaging experience.

The GenCorporate Mentorship Programme connected freshers with mentors from diverse sectors like finance, consulting, engineering, and law. Mentors, who have interned at top firms such as PwC, KPMG, and Barclays, provided valuable career insights and networking opportunities. Participants gained meaningful connections and guidance, helping them build lasting professional relationships.

The Samsung Management Associate Programme (SMAP) offers a unique opportunity for talented individuals to jumpstart their careers with an award-winning program. Participants gain hands-on experience and leadership development in a dynamic environment. The programme is designed to identify and nurture future leaders, helping them take control of their career paths. Interested candidates had the chance to apply through the CTRL+Future Assessment Centre, showcasing their potential for success at Samsung.

The GenCorporate International Forum (GIF) 2021 focused on the theme of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, exploring how it will shape the future and impact daily life. Over two days, the virtual event featured interactive panel discussions, a case study, and Q&A sessions across Technology, Finance, and Consulting sectors. The highlight was a case study designed by Samsung Malaysia, with the winning team awarded internship placements at Samsung Malaysia. GIF 2021 provided valuable insights into industry trends and offered participants the chance to engage with thought leaders in the field.

GenCorporate’s first-ever virtual event, The Game Changers: UK University & CareerPrep, was designed for pre-university students to gain insight into higher education and career paths. Held on 6th February 2021, the event featured three concurrent sessions on popular UK university courses: Engineering/Science, Law, and Economics/Finance. Participants heard from current university students about their academic journeys, internship experiences, and life in the UK. The event also provided an opportunity for networking with speakers and GenCorporate executives, helping students make informed decisions about their future academic and career choices.

2020
In collaboration with Teach For Malaysia (TFM), GenCorporate hosted Discovering The Leader in You, a dynamic workshop focused on essential leadership skills. Held on 12th December 2020, this interactive 2-hour session guided participants in building meaningful relationships, analyzing tasks, and planning presentations. The workshop helped attendees explore effective ways to lead themselves, lead others, and drive meaningful change in both personal and professional settings.

GenCorporate, in collaboration with KPUM, hosted Navigating Deep Waters: Data Protection Amidst COVID-19 on 6th December 2020. This insightful virtual event explored the evolving landscape of data privacy in the UK during the global pandemic. Open to all, not just law students, the session featured discussions on legal challenges and rapid regulatory changes. Attendees also had the opportunity to engage in exclusive networking sessions with industry experts, gaining deeper insights into the future of data protection.

GenCorporate’s Building Bridges speaker series kicked off with an exclusive session on the finance industry on 7th November 2020. Featuring insights from industry professionals Aaron Lau (Wholesale Payments Analyst, J.P. Morgan) and Vincy Bu (Equity Research Analyst, UBS), the event provided valuable guidance for students exploring careers in banking and finance. Participants gained first-hand knowledge about securing spring weeks and summer internships, with selected attendees joining breakout networking sessions for deeper discussions. GenCorporate, in collaboration with Samsung, hosted an exciting in-person event on 8th September 2020 at Samsung’s KL Eco City office. With the theme #BeBold, attendees experienced an inspiring session designed to encourage innovation and career growth in a leading global company.

GenCorporate launched its first-ever Mentorship Programme in partnership with KPUM, providing incoming freshers with a personalized support system. With mentors from diverse fields such as engineering, law, and finance, the programme aimed to guide students through university life and internship opportunities. Mentorships were assigned on a rolling basis, ensuring tailored experiences based on individual needs. The initiative kicked off with an introductory session on 6th September 2020, fostering meaningful connections and helping freshers expand their networks while gaining valuable insights.

2019
GenCorporate, in collaboration with KPUM, hosted The Future of Law on 5th December 2019, exploring the rise of legal technology and the growing influence of Alternative Legal Service Providers. This insightful event provided attendees with a deeper understanding of the evolving legal landscape and the innovations shaping the industry. Participants engaged in discussions on the next big trends in law, gaining valuable perspectives on the future of the profession.

The Samsung event, held on 6th September 2019, offered an exciting and interactive experience for attendees. From 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Samsung KL Eco City, participants engaged in various activities in collaboration with Samsung. The evening was designed to inspire guests to push boundaries and explore new possibilities. With a casual dress code, the event provided a unique opportunity to connect, discover, and experience innovation firsthand.

GenCorporate collaborated with KPMG for the second time this year on the 15th of August 2019 to bring forth an exclusive sharing session by KPMG employees and their career journey with the renowned company.

Working together with the representatives from Samsung, GenCorporate hosted a relaxing engagement session on the 6th April 2019 at Covent Garden, London. It was an unexpected event away from rigid formalities.

On November 11th, GenCorp hosted an Interview Skills Workshop at University College London, aimed at equipping students with the tools and confidence needed to excel in job applications. This hands-on workshop reflected GenCorp’s ongoing commitment to empowering the next generation of professionals.

On September 7th, GenCorp, in collaboration with KPMG Malaysia, hosted an exclusive career insight session at the KPMG Cyber and Digital Hub, KPMG Tower, Bandar Utama. On March 30th, 2016, GenCorp partnered with KPMG and GRADUAN to deliver The Careers Workshop, an insightful session designed for students exploring careers in audit, tax, and advisory. The GenCorporate International Forum (GIF) is GenCorp’s annual flagship event, designed to give students a unique opportunity to gain insights from a range of globally operating companies across various industries. GenCorp, in collaboration with the ASEAN-UK Business Forum (AUBF) and Limkokwing University, proudly presented the renowned ASEAN Briefing: "The Empowerment of the ASEAN Youth". In collaboration with LSE Women in Business, GenCorp proudly welcomed Dato' Rohana Rozhan, CEO of Astro Malaysia, for an inspiring installment of the Speaker Series. GenCorp’s Speaker Series made a strong return with a special session featuring Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, Chairman of Sepang International Circuit, on October 15th, 2015 at Senate House, London. GenCorp returned with the 5th installment of the Corporate Speaker Series, featuring Tan Sri Azlan Zainol, Chairman of RHB Bank. Ahead of the 2015 Malaysian Careers Fair in London, GenCorp organised a mock interview session in collaboration with corporate partner PwC. Designed to equip students with practical interview skills and valuable insights into the hiring process, the session provided tailored guidance and tips from PwC professionals. GenCorp proudly hosted the 3rd and 4th installments of the Corporate Series Event, featuring two of Malaysia’s most influential corporate figures. On March 16th, Dato' Sri Nazir Razak, Chairman of CIMB Group, spoke at Thistle Marble Arch Hotel, followed by a session with Tan Sri Mohd. Sidek bin Hj. Hassan, Chairman of Petronas, on March 18th at the Malaysian High Commission. These back-to-back sessions offered students an exceptional opportunity to gain firsthand insights into leadership, strategy, and the Malaysian corporate landscape from two top industry leaders.

In partnership with the British Malaysian Society (BMS), GenCorp hosted a Careers Advice evening on March 12th, 2015, tailored for Malaysian students preparing for the upcoming Malaysian Career Fair. Industry speakers from HSBC, Prima Ekuiti, and others shared practical guidance on the do’s and don’ts of internships and graduate applications. The event concluded with a Q&A and networking session, giving attendees a valuable platform to connect with professionals and gain clarity on career pathways.

GenCorp, in collaboration with the Imperial College Asia Business Club, proudly delivered the 2nd installment of the Corporate Speaker Series featuring Dato' Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim, Managing Director and Group CEO of Axiata Group Berhad. GenCorp proudly launched the inaugural GenCorporate International Forum (GIF) on February 25th, 2015 at the Hilton Park Lane, London.
