GenCorporate International Forum (GIF) 2023 returned for its annual flagship event with the compelling theme, “Rise of ASEAN: The ASEAN Agenda”, spotlighting the intersection of sustainability, digitalisation, and finance in the region's growth trajectory. Held virtually over two days on 25th and 26th March 2023, the forum invited students and young professionals to engage with top-tier industry leaders through panels, discussions, and a hands-on case study.

The first day focused on Finance and Sustainability, featuring seasoned experts like Teoh Kok Lin, Founder and CIO of Singular Asset Management, and Darrel Ang, Co-Founder of fintech firm CapBay. Joining them were Fan Wai, Head of Sustainability at Alliance Bank Malaysia, and Jeremy Wong, Vice President of Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS). These speakers explored how ESG principles are transforming financial institutions and resource-based industries across Southeast Asia, while also offering personal career reflections and actionable insights for aspiring professionals.

The second day delved into Digitalisation, hosting dynamic speakers such as Navin Sivanganam, EMEA Exec Sponsorships Lead at Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Patrick Er, Chief Sales & Service Officer at Maxis. They shared their perspectives on leading digital transformation strategies across multinational tech and telecom firms, and how innovation is reshaping consumer experience and corporate operations.

The forum concluded with an interactive ESG Case Study, where participants applied critical thinking to real-world sustainability challenges in ASEAN. GIF 2023 once again proved to be an invaluable platform for learning, networking, and professional development rooted in pressing global and regional themes.
