GenCorporate International Forum (GIF) 2022 returned for its annual flagship event, this time themed “Rise of the Conscientious Corporation”, spotlighting the increasing importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors in today’s corporate world. Held virtually from 2nd to 4th April 2022, the three-day event brought together students and professionals for a dynamic program of interactive panels, a case study competition, and a live trading simulation.

The forum kicked off with industry insights from the Corporate Law sector, led by esteemed figures such as Datuk SK Lingam and Aimee Alado-Blake, explored the role of legal frameworks and advocacy in shaping ESG standards. The Technology and Consulting panel, featuring speakers like Navin Sivanganam (Amazon) and Jeremy Tan (BDO Malaysia), who shared their experiences driving ESG transformation across major organisations.

Participants also gained exclusive access to the Investment Banking and Asset Management panel, featuring leaders such as Rajiv Vijendran (Maybank), Luanne Sieh (CIMB), Kevin Bu (BlackRock) and Ryan Fernandez (EY), who discussed ESG's growing impact on investment strategies. Attendees experienced the buzz of financial markets through the AmplifyME Finance Accelerator Simulation, managing real-time trading scenarios and receiving performance-based career insights.

To conclude, the event hosted a hands-on ESG Case Study Competition, led by Hafiz Azmi (Nomura Asset Management), allowing participants to tackle real-world challenges through critical thinking and collaboration.
